Dr Andrew Blaikie elected to IAPB Board of Trustees
Senior Lecturer Dr Andrew Blaikie has been elected as a Trustee on the board of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), of which the Arclight Project is a member.
The clinical lead for the Arclight Project and a long-standing advocate for accessible eye care, Dr Blaikie will attend his first board meeting in April during the IAPB In Sight Live event in Kathmandu, Nepal. The event will bring together global eye health professionals to collaborate on strategies to improve vision care and access.
In his new role, Dr Blaikie will represent the Arclight Project and support IAPB’s mission to eliminate avoidable blindness.
Dr Blaikie said he looks forward to contributing to the work of the board and supporting practical, collaborative approaches to global eye health.
