Emmanuel Musisi

Emmanuel started his PhD in 2019 in the Gillespie research group within the Infection and Global Health Division of the School of Medicine. His research focuses on the identification and evaluation of novel biomarkers for Mycobacterium tuberculosis detection and monitoring response to anti-tuberculosis therapy using sputum and non-sputum-based specimens. His career interest is to attain excellence in basic sciences and translational research to be able to mentor/teach future researchers and contribute to novel scientific innovations that benefit research, public health and the academia through collaborations with high profile research groups across the globe.
