Biography
Dr James S Bowness is a Consultant Anaesthetist and Honorary Associate Professor of Anaesthesia at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. His clinical focus is on regional anaesthesia and his research interests include ultrasound/POCUS, AI, and medical devices. He has extensive teaching experience (at undergraduate and postgraduate level) in anatomy and regional anaesthesia. In partnership with Dr Alasdair Taylor, he devised and has codirected the Regional Anaesthesia (Plan A Blocks) and Anatomy for the FRCA courses since their inception.
He has published widely in the field of ultrasound/POCUS, AI, anatomy, regional anaesthesia, and medical devices. He co-authored the book Anatomy for the FRCA and book chapters on ultrasound, regional anaesthesia, and AI.
