DHI Masters scholarships support Health Data Science students
The University’s Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Studies (GSIS) has been awarded two Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre (DHI) scholarships for the 2024/25 MSc Health Data Science programme.
The DHI Masters scholarship scheme is an innovative national programme, part-funded by the Scottish Funding Council, to support the development of future talent in the field of digital health and care. Past DHI awardee and MSc Health Data Science student Heather Tiernan was awarded the University’s first ever co-funded (School of Medicine/School of Computer Science) interdisciplinary Health Data Science PhD studentship after completing her MSc in this summer. She will be working with Prof. Silvia Paracchini, Professor of Neurogenetic and Genomics at the School of Medicine, on a PhD project entitled, ‘Unravelling Genetic Risk Variants in Neurodevelopmental Conditions.’
School of Medicine staff, who conduct teaching on the course in partnership with the Schools of Computer Science and Mathematics and Statistics, look forward to welcoming the two new DHI scholars in September.
