St Andrews Parkrun

First year St Andrews medics led the way in demonstrating the importance of exercise when it comes to maintaining health and wellbeing.  More than 20 students signed up to the parkrun initiative at the recent Medics freshers event.  Parkrun organise free, weekly 5km timed runs open to everyone, the medical school has close links to the event with researcher Gozde Ozakinci working with the organisation last year.  Emily Wass a third year medic led the new students up to Craigtoun park and indeed led the girls home in the run finishing fastest female in a time of 21:19.
