Third year student Andrew Clelland attended the Orthopaedic Research Society’s 2017 Annual Meeting.  The conference was held between 19-22nd March, in San Diego, California.

Andrew had the opportunity to network with researchers from many different backgrounds at various stages of their career.  On the final day, he presented a poster of his work, titled ‘Anisotropic Effect of Collagen Removal on Cortical Bone’.  The work was very well received by delegates and some insight from other researchers has provoked thought for future direction of his research.

On his return, Andrew said ‘The conference was a fantastic opportunity. Research is for everybody, it’s just a case of getting your name out there and exploring something you find interesting.  After that, the opportunities are endless.’
