Summer Project Presentation
Jen & Barrie with their presentation
Third year medical students Jen Kuan and Barrie Lyell presented the results of their summer project from Malawi at the East of Scotland Postgraduate Teaching session at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline recently. Their project was focused on Uncorrected Refractive Error in Malawi and in particular presbyopia (loss of near focusing) and was supervised by Dr Andrew Blaikie from the Global health Implementation team. The project was funded by the Dorothy Miller Bursary and the School of Medicine’s travel fund. They presented along with Ken McDonald CEO of Vision Action charity, which donated the spectacles for the project.
