School of Medicine Graduation 2026
Graduation Day 2026 marked a major milestone for graduating BSc, ScotGEM, PhD and MRes students from the School of Medicine at the University of St Andrews, as they celebrated the completion of their studies surrounded by staff, families, and peers.
The day began in the historic Younger Hall, where graduates gathered for the official graduation ceremony. From there, the students followed the traditional procession route to St Salvator’s Quad, with the iconic setting providing a fitting backdrop for photographs and celebrations.
Following the formal ceremony, graduates and guests enjoyed graduation lunches across St Andrews, taking time to reflect on their achievements and celebrate with friends and family.
In the afternoon, celebrations continued back at the School of Medicine, where staff, students and their families gathered in the Booth Lecture Theatre for the prize giving ceremony. This provided an opportunity to recognise outstanding academic achievement, professionalism, and contribution across the programme.

- The Art of Rural General Practice Award – Mairead MacSween
The day concluded with celebrations across St Andrews and beyond, including the traditional garden party, as graduates marked the start of the next stage of their careers in medicine.
