Kwabena Obeng Duedu <\/strong><\/h1>\n

Kwabena is an Associate Professor of Microbiology and Biotechnology at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ghana. He is an alumnus of the University of Edinburgh and currently leads a vibrant research group focused on Microbial Ecology, Engineering and Antimicrobial Resistance at UHAS. He is a past head of biomedical sciences at UHAS and currently the founding leader of the UHAS COVID-19 Centre. He is a member of the Africa CDC Pathogen Genomics Initiative (PGI) focus group on Antimicrobial Resistance. He is also a member of the National Technical Coordination Committee on COVID-19 at the Ministry of Health, Ghana. He has led successful collaborations with the University of St. Andrews including the (1) GCRF\/SFC funded Scotland-West Africa Partnership to fight antimicrobial resistance (SWAB) Project; and (2) British Council funded Innovations for African Universities (IAU) Ghana Bioenterprise Innovations Partnership (GBIP) Project. He is also a co-PI on the 2022 Edinburgh_UHAS Ghana iGEM team, a partnership between the University of Edinburgh and UHAS. His research areas are microbial genomics and antimicrobial resistance and microbial biotechnology. He is a member of the Royal Society of Biology and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK.<\/p>\n
