SHIELD Study Day 2025<\/h3>\n

On 19 March, the SHIELD Study team welcomed researchers, clinicians, and stakeholders to a Study Day at the Cameron Education Hub. The event combined presentations, discussions, and workshops focused on improving care and decision-making at the end of life. The various talks covered the GoldLine, followed by shared experiences from Highland and Fife. Afternoon workshops explored key themes including data, clinical engagement, public involvement, and implementation. During the day we had plenty of time to connect, share insights and clear the next steps for the study.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

University secures CSO funding for cutting-edge end-of-life care research<\/a><\/h3>\n

The University of St Andrews is one of five Scottish universities awarded up to \u00a31 million each by the Chief Scientist Office to conduct major research programmes into population health issues. The grant, announced<\/a> by Health and Social Care Secretary Neil Gray on 4 June, will support an Applied Health Research Programme focused on improving unscheduled care for people across Scotland in their last year of life.<\/p>\n
