Biography<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Hellen is a PhD a student in the school of medicine within the infection and global health division having started in January 2021.\u00a0 She\u2019s pursuing an interdisciplinary research that focuses on the feasibility and utility of Scattered Light Integrated Collector (SLIC) as a means to improve diagnostics and antibiotic stewardship in the management of urinary tract infections (UTIs) in Kenya. She\u2019s passionate about how this novel technology can speed up the diagnosis of UTI, improve patient outcomes and reduce the risk of the emergence of antimicrobial resistance AMR. Her career interest is to attain excellence in laboratory diagnostic research, impart this knowledge to students\/other researchers, contribute to novel scientific innovations that can lead to public health improvements and to participate in public engagement activities through education and campaign awareness. \u00a0She is willing to collaborate with interdisciplinary research groups across the globe.<\/p>\n
