At St Andrews School of Medicine, we are proud to work alongside our Patient Partners\u2014volunteers with real-life health experiences who play a vital role in shaping the next generation of doctors.<\/p>\n
Our Patient Partner Programme gives medical students the opportunity to develop essential communication skills, take structured medical histories, and gain a deeper understanding of the real-world impact of illness. By sharing their experiences, our volunteers help students learn not just about conditions, but about the people behind them.<\/p>\n
Our teaching takes place primarily in person at the medical school, with some remote consultations available via Teams. Patient Partners may also take part in sessions at Adamson Community Hospital in Cupar.<\/p>\n
We are incredibly grateful to our volunteers, who bring medical education to life with their generosity and insight. Whether discussing healthcare experiences in small group sessions or helping students refine their questioning techniques, Patient Partners make a real difference to student learning.<\/p>\n
