As part of the Sutton Trust programme, the University of St Andrews Admissions team hosts an annual, fully funded week-long residential summer school for UK students with one year of school remaining. The programme aims to widen access to higher education by demystifying selective universities and equipping participants with the knowledge and confidence to make competitive applications. Through a combination of academic and social activities, students gain first-hand insight into university life and study.<\/p>\n
In collaboration with the Sutton Trust, the School of Medicine again this year hosted a week-long Summer School during 6-10th July, organised by Henry Rae. During the week, pupils engaged in and enjoyed a broad range of interactive sessions on Venepuncture, Taste and Smell, Circulation, Infection Control, Skeletons, Basic Life Support, CSI St Andrews, Urinalysis and Special Senses, developing new skills and confidence. Delivering the sessions were: Henry Rae, Ryad Khatib, Zoe Tuset Garcia, Miles Walace, Lloyd Ferguson, Jo Cecil, Olly Kovaljova, Gillian Duncan, Steve Stewart, Ellie Ranson, and Alice Nelson.
