Professor Peter Donnelly and Professor Frank Gunn-Moore.<\/em><\/p>\n On 8 November, Master of the United College Professor Ineke De Moortel<\/a> announced the appointment of Professors <\/span>Peter Donnelly<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Frank Gunn-Moore<\/span><\/a> as Co-Directors of the <\/span>Sir James Mackenzie Institute for Early Diagnosis<\/span><\/a>. Prof. Donnelly, Chair in Public Health at the <\/span>School of Medicine<\/span><\/a> and former Mackenzie Institute Director, will take on the role of Co-Director (Clinical). Prof. Gunn-Moore, Professor of Molecular Neurobiology at the <\/span>School of Biology<\/span><\/a>, will serve as Co-Director (Science). Their Co-Directorship builds on the interdisciplinary and cross-School nature of the Mackenzie Institute, with a vision to enhance the link between fundamental research and real-life applications to early diagnosis.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Mackenzie Institute was established in 2019 to offer an inspiring and supportive environment committed to fostering ideas, sharing of knowledge and skills around earlier diagnosis of human disease. The Institute draws from existing expertise in early diagnosis that is distributed across disciplines, including Medicine, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geography & Sustainable Development, Mathematics & Statistics, Physics & Astronomy and Psychology & Neuroscience.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Reflecting on the announcement, Prof. Donnelly said: \u201cI am delighted to be joined in the leadership of Mackenzie by my friend and colleague Prof. Frank Gunn-Moore.
