Prof. Mathew Horrocks, Eleanor Johnston (PPI representative), Werner Remmele (PPI representative), Brendan Hawdon (PPI representative), and Prof. Peter Donnelly after the seminar.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span>On 25 September, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/medicine.st-andrews.ac.uk\/mackenzie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mackenzie Institute for Early Diagnosis<\/a> hosted two guest speakers from the University of Edinburgh for a seminar entitled,\u00a0\u2018The role of novel techniques in the study of Neurodegenerative Diseases\u2019.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/profile\/tilo-kunath\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prof. Tilo Kunath<\/a> (Chair of Regenerative Neurobiology, Centre for Regenerative Medicine)\u00a0discussed his work on &#8216;Parkinson\u2019s disease modelling with neurons produced from human pluripotent stem cells,&#8217; while\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/profile\/dr-mathew-horrocks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prof. Mathew Horrocks<\/a> (Chair of Biophysics) outlined his research\u00a0\u2018Studying neurodegenerative diseases at the single-molecule level.\u2019 A Q&amp;A session followed, with several insightful questions from a packed Booth Lecture Theatre audience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThese were two excellent, well-attended talks.
