Administered by the Royal College of Physicians, this <\/span><\/span><span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/medhandbook.st-andrews.ac.uk\/wolfson-award\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/medhandbook.st-andrews.ac.uk\/wolfson-award\/\">award<\/a><\/span><\/span><span><span> supports outstanding undergraduate students who are likely to pursue a medical research career in their intercalated year. Winners received a \u00a35,000 grant.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>Bhargavi and Neil, who were selected in August 2023, submitted their project reports to the Foundation and received their award certificates last month. <\/span><\/span>Their projects were entitled, &#8216;What is the Role of Mitsugumin-23 in Doxorubicin-Induced Calcium Dyshomeostasis in Cardiomyocytes?&#8217; (Bhargavi) and &#8216;Does leucine-rich repeat containing 15 (LRRC15) contribute to the tumour phenotypes of melanoma cells?&#8217; (Neil).
