{"id":5605,"date":"2022-01-28T16:48:48","date_gmt":"2022-01-28T16:48:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/med.st-andrews.ac.uk\/medicine\/?p=5605"},"modified":"2022-01-28T16:48:48","modified_gmt":"2022-01-28T16:48:48","slug":"dr-panna-muqit-participates-in-maggies-50-mile-running-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medicine.st-andrews.ac.uk\/news\/dr-panna-muqit-participates-in-maggies-50-mile-running-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr Panna Muqit participates in Maggie\u2019s 50-mile running challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Panna Muqit, ScotGEM Year 1 Generalist Clinical Mentor (GCM) at the School of Medicine and her ScotGEM student group are participating in the Maggie\u2019s 50-mile running challenge in January to support the excellent work that Maggie\u2019s do in helping those diagnosed with cancer and their families.\u00a0 Maggie\u2019s is a charity providing free cancer support and information in centres across the UK and online.\u00a0 Panna takes her group to Maggie\u2019s Dundee every year during \u2018breast lump\u2019 teaching week to show them the important contribution that these centres make to patient wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p>The ScotGEM course curriculum emphasises the significance of community engagement as evidenced by the \u2018Agents of Change\u2019 component of the course where students are trained to help drive future change in the design and delivery of healthcare in Scotland and beyond.\u00a0 Contributing actively towards quality improvement in healthcare.
