Research ethics in public health emergency: the case of Ebola outbreak in West Africa<\/p>\n

The lectures are part of the SMERT project initiative for streamlining health research ethics and medicines regulation in Tanzania for which the University of St Andrews School of Medicine is partner.\u00a0 As part of SMERT deliverables, the St Andrews team: Dr Morven Shearer, Dr Janet Gillespie and Dr Sabiiti worked with the KCMUCo research ethics committee to develop curriculum for Bioethics module for postgraduate students at the college.\u00a0 The curriculum was completed and approved by the annual national SMERT forum in Dec 2018, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.\u00a0 Dr Sabiiti’s two lectures were part of the 2-week series of\u00a0 lectures aimed at piloting the curriculum and receive feedback from students.\u00a0 The course is the first of its kind at KCMUCo and will be integrated in the postgraduate curriculum for all postgraduates and later on to senior years of undergraduate curriculum.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
