{"id":3913,"date":"2017-07-25T09:49:43","date_gmt":"2017-07-25T08:49:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/medicine.st-andrews.ac.uk\/?p=3913"},"modified":"2017-07-25T09:49:43","modified_gmt":"2017-07-25T08:49:43","slug":"china-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medicine.st-andrews.ac.uk\/news\/china-visit\/","title":{"rendered":"China Visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Alan Stewart was recently in Xining, Qinghai Province, China, where he delivered seminars in two Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Institutes.\u00a0 These included the North West Institute of Plateu Biology, where Dr Stewart was bestowed the honorary position of Guest Professor.\u00a0 This is in part due to a new collaborative award of \u00a5400,000 from CAS to Dr Ruitao Yu, an Associate Professor at the Institute and former Visiting Scholar in the Stewart Group.\u00a0 During this new project, Dr Yu will spend another 3 months in Dr Stewart\u2019s lab to examine the serum albumin binding characteristics of medicinally relevant natural products.\u00a0 Also whilst in Xining, Dr Stewart delivered a Keynote Lecture at a High-End Forum focussed on medicinally relevant natural products an treatment of cardiovascular disease.
