Health Implementation student, Imogen Hawley recently returned from Mozambique where she conducted fieldwork funded by the Kozinn Trust and School of Medicine.\u00a0 Her research explored a youth-centred health programme geared toward educating adolescents about important quality of life issues such as HIV\/AIDS and gender equality through community-based workshops, projects, training, and exchanges of arts and culture.\u00a0 Imogen\u2019s research interests include understanding the cultural aspects that determine applied behavioural communication programmes\u2019 success.\u00a0 Part of her research involved observing theatre productions that youths develop to discuss problems such as malaria and premature marriage with their communities.\u00a0 She was also witness to other global and public health efforts in Mozambique, including a bed-net distribution for malaria, a literacy programme, and an NGO delivering nutrient fortified seeds to local farmers.\u00a0 Other lessons from the Global Health Implementation course were put into perspective when visiting a district hospital and rural clinic during her trip.\u00a0 Her master\u2019s dissertation will be complete by the end of August this summer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3905\"
