Recently John Milton Lucocq was given the opportunity to talk at the prestigious Scripps Institute in California (TSRI).\u00a0 He was invited to outline his new concept – \u201cmorphomics” which incorporates quantitative structural cell biology into an \u2018omics framework in systems biology.\u00a0 This idea brings high resolution structure together with genomics and proteomics to provide a deeper understand of how structure function relationships work within a wide variety of biological settings at near molecular resolution.\u00a0 John\u2019s work is focussing particularly on how new imaging techniques for visualising cells can help solve the “BIG DATA” problem presented by 3D structures.<\/p>\n
