Thesis examination
A significant doctoral thesis in the field of fears of cancer recurrence was awarded in Radboud University, Nijmegen on Monday 16th June 2017. The candidate – Marieke van de Wal was questioned in public session by 7 opponents including the international examiner Prof Gerry Humphris. Her performance was exemplary and she fully deserved her doctorate which included: a cross-sectional survey, a case presentation, and a major RCT known as SWORD to test a psychological intervention to reduce recurrence fears.
