Prof. Baldacchino appointed member of EUDA Scientific Committee
On 8 July, Prof. Alexander Baldacchino was appointed as a member of the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA) Scientific Committee.
EUDA is the central authority on illicit drugs in the European Union. It contributes to EU preparedness on drugs through actions that anticipate and alert on dangers, whilst responding to emerging issues and learning from best practice in the field to assess the effectiveness of interventions.
EUDA’s Scientific Committee consists of 15 well-known scientists responsible for delivering an opinion on any scientific matter concerning the Centre’s activity . The committee also carries out risk assessment of new psychoactive substances. Members give their opinions completely independently of the Member States and the Community Institutions and serve for a renewable three-year period.
Congratulations, Prof. Baldacchino!
