International Society of Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV) 2016 Conference
Fiona Cooke, PhD student with Dr Simon Powis recently attended the International Society of Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV) 2016 Conference in Rotterdam, here is what she had to say:
“With queues for registration on the optional Pre-conference Education Day out of the door of the De Doelen in Rotterdam, it was clear from the offset that the International Society of Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV) 2016 Conference was going to be a popular event. For those unfamiliar with the field of Extracellular Vesicles (EVs), ISEV 2016 is the essential EV researcher’s conference of the year. It is an event where renowned researchers in the field come together to discuss and collaborate the next level of research. Plenary Speakers this year included Prof Claus Patel, Prof David Lyden, Prof Robert Gallo, Dr Leonid Margolis and Prof Francisco Sanchez-Madrid. Whilst the majority of presentations were based around the immunological connection between EVs and cancer there was also a great deal of research presented looking into isolation techniques and the potential of Stem Cells.
Considering the beautiful weather that framed the welcoming city of Rotterdam, there could not have been a more ideal location for ISEV 2016.”
