Verona group2_March2016 copyProf Gerry Humphris and Dr Yuefang Zhou attended the Verona Sequence Analysis Group on the 11th to 12th March.  The meeting was held at the Fondazione Centro Studi Campostrini, Via Santa Maria in Organo, Verona.  The 2 day event is held annually by members of this Special Interest Group and was particularly focused on expanding the VR-CoDES system (a structured system of cataloguing and analysing emotional content in health care professional and patient interaction within clinical settings).  The expansion will include new advisory instructions to users (over 80 downloads of the system’s manuals in the past academic year: follow http://www.each.eu/research/verona-coding-system/ ), a consolidation of the 4 different language versions (to add to the English version) including: Italian, Norwegian, Dutch and Portuguese.  Plans for a Chinese version have been made with the link that Humphris and Zhou have with South Central China University.  The SIG will meet again in Heidelberg at the ICCH Conference in September, with an interim meeting again in Italy to finalise a theoretical manuscript underpinning the VR-CoDES system.
