What is a survey?

IC4Me 5 What is the IC4 Me study about? 5 What is a survey?

A survey is a way of gathering and analysing information from a a group of people, usually over a set time, and a set place. By asking relevant questions of a small group, you can gain insights into a much larger group.

Who are you going to survey in the IC 4 Me study?

We are inviting all health and social care professionals who work in Fife to come forward.

These include Doctors, Dentists, Nurses, Midwives, Allied Health Professionals, Pharmacists, Play therapists, Psychologists, and Social Workers.

They can work in hospitals, in the community or both places.

We would love to also carry out a survey on people living with multiple long terms conditions and their careers and family members. However, there is not a questionnaire invented for this yet.

Why are you going to survey them?

By asking these professionals about which other professionals they work with and how they work collaboratively with them, we will be able to compare  different professional groups, and also different work places.

How will you ask the questions the IC 4 Me survey?

We are going to use the Multi-group Measurement Scale for Interprofessional Collaboration by Chris Kenaschuk and colleagues. This is a quality assured questionnaire.
