Stuart is a software engineer with a particular interest in data visualisation, and has worked in both academia and industry. His research at St Andrews included work in computational biology looking at models of social learning, and more recently work on global health projects such as the GRADE and the Arclight projects in the School of Medicine. His current role is in industry working on a variety of safety-critical software.<\/p>\n

Michael is a consultant at the African Centre for Tax and Economic Studies (ACTES), with a strong background in public economics, tax policy, and econometrics. With several accolades and published works, Michael’s contributions to tax policy analysis have had significant impacts across Sub-Saharan Africa. His previous distinguished roles as Research Specialist at the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) and Senior Economist at the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) have further solidified his expertise in the field.<\/p>\n

Dr O\u2019Hare<\/a> is a Reader in Global Health. She studies the impact of gaps in global governance on government revenue and therefore on children’s rights. Before entering academia she was a paediatrician and worked in Africa for ten years. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), sits on the Working Group on Climate Change<\/a> and chairs the International Strand.\u00a0 She is the lead champion for academia with the Scottish Government Global Citizenship<\/a> programme, sits on the editorial board of the International Child Health group and is a member of the World Health Organisation Technical Advisory Group on Economics, Climate Change and Health (WHO TAG- EconECH<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Professor Hall<\/a>\u00a0is an applied econometrician at the University of Leicester, a visiting professor at Pretoria University and formally held chairs at Imperial College and the London Business School.<\/span><\/p>\n

He is a member of the executive Committee of the UN project LINK, an advisor to the Bank of Greece.<\/span><\/p>\n

He has been a consultant to the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund.<\/p>\n

He was an economic advisor at the Bank of England and a visiting senior research fellow at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. He has published over 300 journal articles and 12 books.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rachel is a part time research assistant with the GRADE project and a senior researcher with the Tax Justice Network.\u00a0 Rachels expertise is in cross border tax abuse and the impact this has on human rights. She has a particular interest in the extractive sector and its impact and potential for Africa. She was raised and lives in Lilongwe Malawi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mada Daniel Nkhoma is a passionate advocate for child rights, youth\u00a0empowerment\u00a0and socio-economic justice. Eilish<\/a>\u00a0qualified from the University of St Andrews in 2011 with a BSc in medicine and from the University of Manchester with a MBChB in 2014. She finished her GP training September 2021 and worked as a medical demonstrator at the University of St Andrews during the academic year 2017-2018. She is currently working on the GRADE project looking in particular at bilateral impacts one country can have on another.<\/p>\n

Verity<\/a> is a Professor of Psychology, with a research interest in cognitive impairments in psychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. She came to St Andrews in 1993 as a new lecturer and served the University in various management positions including as Head of School of Psychology and Neuroscience, Provost of St Leonard\u2019s College and Vice Principle (Enterprise and Engagement). She went to the University of East London in 2019 as Pro-Vice Chancellor (Impact and Innovation) before returning to St Andrews in 2025 to join the GRADE team as a part-time researcher. She has a keen interest in realizing research impact and a strong commitment to social justice. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and co-Editor-in-Chief for Current Opinions in Behavioural Sciences.<\/p>\n
