Dr Sarah Bowers
Sarah is a Clinical Research Fellow working on her PhD with the University of St Andrews and is the lead researcher on EMBED. Sarah also works as a Palliative Care doctor within NHS Fife and NHS Tayside and is passionate about driving for change in how end of life care is delivered, particularly for people who don’t typically get the chance to access it.
Professor Frances Quirk
Frances leads Research, Innovation and Knowledge at NHS Fife, is Professor of Health Services Research in the School of Medicine, St Andrews and Adjunct Professor in the School of Rural Medicine at the University of New England, NSW, Australia. Frances supports a range of clinical research and innovation projects and is primarily interested in improving quality of life and integrated care.
Dr Jo Bowden
Jo is a Consultant in Palliative Medicine in NHS Fife and a Clinical Researcher. Her research work is focused on improving care and support for people with advanced illness and their caregivers. She supports clinical trials for people with advanced illness and a range of mixed-methods studies incorporating population data and interviews with patients and families.
Dr Sarah Mills
Sarah is an Academic GP. Her research centres around unscheduled/urgent care, particularly in the last year of life. She works primarily within health data science. Sarah’s clinical work is as a GP Partner in a semi-rural practice and cottage hospital.
Dr Linda Williams
Linda is a senior statistician in the Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit, with more than 25 years experience in clinical trials and audits. She will be advising Sarah on using and interpreting the data.
