Prof Frank Sullivan
Frank Sullivan has been an academic GP since 1984. He was appointed as the Professor of Primary Care Medicine in the University of St. Andrews in 2017, where he has also served as the Director of Research in the School of Medicine. His research interests lie mainly in health informatics and the evaluation of complex interventions.
Dr Samuel Warne
Sam Warne is the Research Fellow attached to the EAGLE project. He completed his PhD studies in an interdisciplinary project between the School of Medicine and School of Psychology & Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews, evaluating the effect of a nationwide workplace physical activity intervention on participant physical fitness, mental wellbeing and cognitive functioning. His research interests lie particularly around the promotion of physical activity and other health behaviours; whilst his personal interests largely revolve around sports – including being an avid golfer!
Dr Sandhya Duggal
Sandhya Duggal is a lecturer at the University of St Andrews and has a PhD in Public Health. Sandhya has ten years’ experience of conducting health service evaluations within the fields of Public Health and Adult Social Care. Her interests include: the role of prevention and asset-based/strengths-based ways of working within healthcare. Sandhya has worked for NHS England (providing healthcare professionals with rapid evaluations of health and social care services) and has independent evaluator experience.
Dr Cicely Macnamara
Cicely Macnamara is a medical statistics lecturer and deputy director of postgraduate research in the University of St Andrews School of Medicine. Cicely has a background in applied mathematics and over ten years of modelling experience in the field of medicine. Her recent interests are in health data science and she bring strengths in data analytics and statistical consultancy to the team.

Prof David Jaeger
David Jaeger has been a Professor of Economics at the University of St Andrews since 2020. He is an applied microeconomist with research interests in labour, health, and econometrics, particularly causal inference. He is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (London) and the Institute of Labor Economics (Bonn).

Dr Andrew Murray – Chief Medical Officer
Andrew is the Chief Medical Officer for the PGA European Tour, Ladies European Tour, and Ryder Cup Europe. He has worked with various international governing bodies and governments on public health policy. He is an advisor on public health to The R&A, a global governing body for golf. He is an honorary senior lecturer at the University of St Andrews and consultant in Sport and Exercise at the University of Edinburgh having done his PhD on Golf and Health.
Mr Kevin Barker – Director, Golf Development, R&A
Kevin is the Director of Golf Development at The R&A. Based in St Andrews, The R&A governs the sport of golf worldwide outside the USA and Mexico, with the consent of 159 organizations across 146 countries. Working with these affiliates to develop golf is a key role for Kevin and The R&A’s Golf Development team. In recent years, The R&A has invested in and strongly promoted the health benefits of golf and sees social prescription as a great way for golf to contribute to the health of communities and to provide people with the chance to play this “sport for life.”
Mr Iain Evans – Business Manager, Fife Golf Trust
Dr Andrew Williams – Co-director, Scottish Collaboration for Public Health Research and Policy
Now working at the University of Edinburgh as the co-director of the Scottish Collaboration for Public Health Research and Policy, Andrew Williams is a public health researcher interested in how environments, culture and society shape the health of the public. His research is often with children and adolescents or low-income communities. He has worked on a number of evaluations of health promoting interventions including 20mph speed limits, housing improvements and now EAGLE.
Prof Gozde Ozakinci
Prof Gozde Ozakinci is a health psychologist who works on increasing access to physical activity programmes in the community. She works with health care professionals and voluntary organisations to increase the links between them. She has collaborations with Paths for All, jogscotland, and parkrun among others. Dr Emma Lunan – General Practitioner & Sports Physician
Dr Emma Lunan has over 20 years experience practising medicine and currently works as both a GP and Sports physician. She is the doctor for the Scottish Women’s National Football Team and has worked across a number of sporting disciplines including rugby, golf, athletics, swimming and tennis. She currently works part time as a GP in a large practice in Kilmarnock, South west Scotland and as an honorary lecturer in sport and exercise science and medicine at the University of Glasgow. Her main interests lie in increasing and encouraging physical activity across all populations and she has recently become chair of the organisation Movement for Health, the aims of which are to increase physical activity in those living with long term conditions.

Dr Sharon Carstairs
Sharon is a Lecturer (Teaching & Research) in Health Sciences at the University of Dundee’s School of Health Sciences. Her research expertise includes designing, implementing and evaluating a variety of exploratory and intervention research studies in the fields of childhood nutrition and eating behaviour, and physical activity promotion and support for healthy behaviour change.
Dr Kathryn Cunningham
Kathryn is a Lecturer (Teaching and Research) in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Dundee and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society. She has expertise in the design and conduct of several different types of applied health and wellbeing research and evaluation. Her research interests include loneliness, health promotion, health behaviour change, social prescribing and intervention/service development, implementation and evaluation.
