Our current research focus is on conflicts of interest<\/strong>. We start from the premise that transparency in healthcare is important, but on its own it will not fix the problems that conflicts create. We aim to develop and test ways to fairly inform people about healthcare interventions that actually can protect patients \u2013 and healthcare systems \u2013 from the harms that conflicts cause. We also want to find effective, efficient ways that enable people to make and understand their own potential conflicts. We are creating an educational resource, based on this work, that is being made available to medical schools.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.27.8″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text – SMMB” _builder_version=”4.27.8″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″]<\/p>\n We also conduct research to combat health mis-infomation. The Social Media Made Better for Health Emergencies: Proposal for a pilot study<\/strong> <\/a>aims to design a rapid response system to health information circulating on social media, using evidence based ways to assess and respond to claims.
