International Foundation for Medicine
The International Foundation Programme in Medicine is a one-year preparatory programme combining science study with advanced English for academic purposes and communication skills for Medicine. It is designed for international students (not home or EU students, who have other entry routes available) wishing to enter the Faculty of Medicine at the University of St Andrews. The course provides an alternative pathway for students whose national high school-leaving qualifications are deemed to be insufficient, without additional study, to be considered for entry to a degree programme at St Andrews. It is not intended for international students with qualifications which are listed as acceptable for entry.
The programme provides a unique blend of modules in Science, together with academic English and communication skills, and also offers courses which include cultural orientation, critical thinking, research skills, statistics, medical ethics and first aid.
