A subset of students will re-enter clinical training. We would expect that a year spent on this programme will strengthen subsequent applications for foundation stage training and beyond.
For other students it will strengthen applications for graduate entry medicine.
For others it will enhance applications to join PhD programmes or other research led careers.
For others the experience of an independent research project will increase employability in graduate entry jobs and particularly those which require judgement, personal responsibility and initiative.
For those already employed as healthcare professionals successful completion of the course will raise the awareness of research and confidence when asked to undertake it. It may also enhance promotion prospects.
