Mr Vincent Baron
Research Fellow

I come from center of France. I did my Bachelor and my Master of research at the University of Clermont-Ferrand. I got a biology bachelor with microbiology orientation. And then I started a Master of microbiology. At the end of the first year I had the opportunity to do an internship abroad. I did it in the Gillespie research group and I worked on Mycoplasmas species. I came back to France to finish my Master degree and after I joined the Gillespie group as a PhD student.

My research focuses on Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.tb). We aim to gain information on the dormancy cell state. We work also with Mycobacterium smergmatis which is the model organism to study M.tb.

Our objective is to be able to identify a dormant cell from an active cell and be able to separate these cells. This will give us a better understanding of the dormancy cell state.
