Dr Kathryn Cunningham
My main research interests are in psycho-oncology (particularly loneliness), health behaviour change and intervention development and evaluation.
I completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of St Andrews in 2008 and a Masters in Health Psychology at the University of Stirling in 2009. I then worked at the University of Edinburgh as a Research Assistant on an RCT of a psychological therapy for depression in people with cancer, before completing my PhD in the area of loneliness and cancer at the University of Dundee in 2014. While undertaking my PhD I held research positions in the areas of cancer care, cardiac rehabilitation and intensive care. After completing my PhD I worked at the University of Dundee on a feasibility trial of an intervention to reduce alcohol consumption in obese men then on an RCT of different strategies for managing caries in children’s teeth. I began work at the University of St Andrews in August 2017 on a study to evaluate new models of primary care.data source: symbiosis
