Dr Jane Illés
Jane joined the University of St Andrews, School of Medicine, in July 2018 as a Physiology Lecturer (Education Focused) and is involved with teaching and student support on both the BSc and ScotGEM medical programmes.
From 2014 to 2018, Jane led the University of Dundee's Athena SWAN work. Jane developed and coordinated work across the institution, was project manager and lead author of the successful institution award application (2017, under the expanded charter terms) and oversaw Athena SWAN activity across all academic schools. Jane contributed to all department award applications, including the health schools’ three-way joint application and most recently the School of Science and Engineering's post May 2015 bronze award and the School of Life Sciences Silver Award (both conferred October 2018).
Jane was elected to chair the Scotland Athena SWAN network (2016-present) and continues to work closely with colleagues across the ED&I community. She regularly chairs Athena SWAN assessment panels and is frequently approached by other institutions to provide critical friend feedback and advice on applications.
Prior to that, from 2003 to 2014, Jane was employed by the University of Dundee, School of Life Sciences, as a teaching specialist in Human Physiology and has had many teaching and administrative responsibilities in the Schools of Life Sciences, Medicine and Dentistry.data source: symbiosis
