Dr O’Hare is a senior lecturer in Global Health Implementation, a joint post between the University of St Andrews, Scotland and the School of Public Health and Family Medicine, University of Malawi.
She is also a senior lecturer in Paediatrics and Child Health, College of Medicine, Malawi and consultant paediatrician. She has extensive experience caring for children vertically infected with HIV. She is a member of the executive committee of the Malawian Paediatric and Child Health Association (PACHA) and chair of PACHA advocacy committee.  She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) and a former member of the advocacy committee and the international board.

She works with a multidisciplinary group in Malawi and the UK who are interested in the impact of economic policies, including tax justice on children’s access to the SDG 3, 4 and 6, which are critical determinants of health and minimum core human rights. The group’s analytical work on the impact of tax abuse on child health was used by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa High-Level Panel on Illicit Financial Flows  http://www.uneca.org/iff/.

She supervises Masters and PhD students in Malawi and the UK on upstream barriers and remedies to the goal of minimum core rights for all children.
