On Friday 5th of February influential paediatrician and St Andrews alumnus Dr Carol Ewing came to speak to the medical students. Carol is a Vice President of Health Policy at the RCPCH and clinician at the Royal Manchester Children’s hospital. Her talk gave an insight into a worldwide prospective of paediatrics and how early intervention in childhood can lead to a healthier adult population. She also added the personal touch with fascinating stories from her career and time at St Andrews. It was heartening to hear from someone who had, had such an amazing medical career but had also brought up a family. The students were thoroughly inspired by the talk and left knowing what an amazing career paediatrics can be.
