St Andrews Parkrun lured Freshers and returning students to the park today with the promise of a bacon roll for runners. Third year medic Sam Mason made his presence felt by being first back in a time of 17:22. This was Sam’s debut at the St Andrews parkrun and his presence challenged two regulars, Akira O’Connor (Psychology) and Anna Hedley resulting in PBs for both runners. Another third year medic Maddi Bell also made her debut at the parkrun clocking up a very impressive 21:10 requiring anatomy demonstrator Wojciech Cymes to turn in a PB to stay narrowly ahead. The course record of 15:39 set in March 2016 is currently held by graduated medical student Matthew O’Connor.
