Professor Alex Baldacchino, has been awarded a Fellowship by the International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM). The award was presented at the ISAM Annual Meeting in Montreal where a record number of speakers and delegates attended from 31 countries from around the world.
ISAM is committed to promoting the role of addiction medicine in addressing alcohol and drug abuse. This is achieved through activities such as advancing knowledge and education on addiction, enhancing recognition and creditability of physicians in the field internationally and establishing international consensus to approach and practice guidelines.
Professor Baldacchino sits on the Executive Board of ISAM as the Education Committee Chair alongside his role at the University where his research interest
lies in improving the lives of individuals with a history of substance misuse problems.
